Symphony Spa Geyser Review: Best Hard Water Solution for Hair Fall?

Is the Symphony Spa Geyser the ultimate fix for hair fall? We tested its PUROPOD cartridge and smart features. Read our full Symphony Spa Geyser review now.
Hard water is a quiet problem in many parts of the country. It can leave hair dry, make skin itchy and brittle, and shorten the life of appliances. The Symphony Spa geyser approaches the problem differently: it combines electric water heating with a built-in softening cartridge. The result is warm water that is easier on hair and skin and kinder to the geyser itself.
Does it actually soften water?
Yes. I used a hardness test kit to compare tap water with the water coming out of the Symphony Spa. My supply is mixed municipal and borewell water, and the reading from the tap was noticeably harder. After running water through the geyser’s PUROPOD cartridge the hardness dropped considerably. Symphony has also had independent labs verify the softening performance.
How the PUROPOD cartridge works

The heart of the softening system is the PUROPOD—a replaceable nine-layer multistage filtration cartridge. It is designed to:
- Filter out sediments and impurities
- Reduce dissolved chemicals that contribute to hardness
- Treat hard water before it reaches your shower or tap
One cartridge is included with the geyser and an extra cartridge is supplied free. The cartridge must be replaced periodically; when purchased directly from the manufacturer it cost about ₹1,350 at the time of this review. The geyser will continue to heat water even if the cartridge is not replaced, but the water will no longer be softened.
Smart Bath Controller: convenience and safety features

The Symphony Spa comes with a wireless Smart Bath Controller. It’s a splash-proof remote that brings useful controls to the bathroom without having to fiddle with the heater itself. Key features include:
- Temperature control from 40°C to 75°C
- Timer settings and a child lock
- Emergency torch
- Voice alerts for status updates: heating complete, on/off, cartridge replacement due, and error messages
- Operational range up to about 20 feet
The controller sends updates to the geyser and can be left out of the loop if you prefer to use the unit as a conventional geyser. The voice notifications are a neat touch for knowing when water is ready or when maintenance is needed.
Build quality, safety and components
This is the Symphony Spa 2,000 W 25-litre model, positioned for medium to large families or for those who use showers rather than buckets. Important construction and safety highlights:
- Supports up to 8 bar pressure—suitable for high-rise buildings
- PUF insulation to retain heat for longer
- Safety systems including overheat protection, high-pressure protection, shock-proof body and child lock
- Titanium Pro glass-lined tank, a magnesium anode rod and an InCo alloy glass-coated heating element for corrosion resistance and durability
- BEE five-star energy efficiency rating to help reduce electricity bills
Warranty coverage adds peace of mind: typically two years on the product, three years on the heating element and seven years on the tank.
Capacities, price and long-term value of Symphony Spa Geyser
The Symphony Spa is available in 10, 15 and 25 litre capacities. The 25 litre model I tested is ideal for families and shower users. The 25 litre unit was priced at around ₹15,000 at the time of this review. That places it above budget models, but the higher upfront price is offset by:
- Reduced hard-water damage to hair and skin
- Lower risk of scale build-up inside the tank and heating element
- Longer component life backed by solid warranties
Who should consider the Symphony Spa geyser?
- Households dealing with hard water or borewell water
- Anyone experiencing hair fall or skin irritation linked to hard water
- Families that use showers or require larger daily hot water volumes
- Residents in high-rise buildings who need higher pressure tolerance
Quick buying checklist
- Choose capacity based on family size and bathing habits (10, 15, 25 litres).
- Consider long-term cartridge costs and replacement interval; the controller will notify when replacement is due.
- Confirm warranty terms for product, element and tank.
- If you plan to mix geyser water with ambient tap water, set target temperature accordingly; if using only geyser water you can use lower target temperatures (around 50°C).
- Decide if you want the Smart Bath Controller features or prefer a basic installation.
Final thoughts about Symphony Spa Geyser
The Symphony Spa blends water softening with smart controls and solid safety features. It is a practical choice for homes facing hard water problems—especially where hair loss or skin trouble is a concern. While the initial cost is higher than entry-level geysers, the integrated PUROPOD cartridge, better protection against scale and a robust warranty make it a sensible long-term investment for many households.
