OLED TVs are the most expensive TVs available today, and rightly so; they provide the best picture quality, best viewing angles, best contrast and best audio quality. OLED TVs have lower brightness levels compared to LED and QLED TVs. They work best in darker rooms and home theatre setups. But also be aware that most of the innovation that is happening on OLED TVs has recently been around improving the brightness of OLED TVs. The recent QD OLED technology in Sony and Samsung models is highlighted as an improvement for brightness issues.
OLED TVs have also been a notable burning issue. Burn-in happens when you watch content that has Certain pixels in the same place for long periods of time, for example, news channel tickers and sports channel logos, scoreboards and gaming. Over the years, this has reduced significantly, but the concern still exists.
TV manufacturers are developing software to refresh diodes every few hours of use, reducing burn-in risks with advanced tools. In 2025, OLED TVs are expected to have minimal burn-in issues due to these advancements.
Key Features to Consider Before Buying an OLED TV
Now, if you are convinced that OLED is the right choice for you, let’s delve into understanding the best OLED TVs in India.
I compared over 15 models of OLED TVs across four different brands of OLED TV manufacturers in India. while the base capabilities of the OLED TV remain the same. I will go into the main differences in picture and audio quality before jumping into my recommendations. Let’s talk about the picture quality.
Picture Quality: Brightness, HDR & Color Performance
All Samsung TVs compared and the Sony A95L are QD OLED TVs, which, like I said before, have better peak brightness, while the rest are OLED TVs only.
Samsung is planning to introduce a budget OLED TV to the market fairly soon. 4K upscaling is essential to upscale lower resolution content like HD to 4K to make older movies, cable TV and YouTube content look a lot better.
All OLED TVs except the Xiaomi OLED TV support 4K upscaling. All the TVs compared are 4K Ultra HD or 4K UHD TVs.

One key thing to look for is the HDR or High Dynamic Range format supported. HDR 10 is the most basic one, while HDR 10+ or Dolby Vision, which is a proprietary HDR format, are more advanced and support better picture quality.
Having one or both of HDR 10+ or Dolby Vision is recommended. Except for Samsung, all OLED TVs have Dolby Vision. Samsung OLED TVs have HDR 10+ and HLG.
Refresh Rate & Gaming Performance
The next thing you have to consider is the refresh rate. The higher the refresh rate, the better, especially if you watch a lot of sports and use the TV for gaming. Higher refresh rate helps to reduce motion blur and provide a smooth visual experience in fast-paced scenes or where quick movements occur.
While a 60 Hz refresh rate is sufficient for watching regular TV shows and movies, I recommend at least 120 Hz or upwards for OLED TVs, which almost all TVs have, except the Xiaomi and the LG A3,3, which are budget TVs.
If you plan to use the TV for gaming in addition to the refresh rate, you need to look for three additional capabilities: the auto low latency mode or ALLM, the variable refresh rate or VRR and the support of ER HDMI port for connecting your gaming console and external sound systems. All OLED TVs support this.
For most casual users of TVs who use the TV mainly for streaming and sports, the difference in processor performance will be indistinguishable. But higher variants of brands will have more powerful processors which is useful if you plan to buy the TV for gaming.
Audio Quality: Speakers, Wattage & Dolby Atmos
As TVs have gotten slimmer, the sound quality of TVs has gone down significantly and hence the popularity of soundbars in home theatre systems. If you do not plan to use a soundbar or a home theatre system at home, then the audio quality inherent in the TV becomes important.
Therefore, look for two things. The first is the output wattage, and the second is the number of speakers or audio channels provided by the TV. The higher the output wattage and the greater the number of audio channels, the better the audio quality.

All TVs claim to have surround sound and Dolby Atmos, but with just two speakers, you will practically never get that.
Sony OLED TVs and Samsung S95 series have the best audio systems within the TV. But my recommendation is if you’re investing so much money in an OLED TV, consider getting a home theatre system or at least a soundbar to enhance your viewing experience. The difference in audio experience is significant and quite noticeable.
Smart TV Usability: OS, RAM, Storage & Remote
In my opinion, the operating system used by the TV makes or breaks the browsing experience. LG and Samsung use their proprietary operating systems, WebOS and Tizen. While, Tizen is somewhat easier to use, my personal experience and reviews I’ve seen of WebOS are just okay and quite cumbersome.
The popular apps of Netflix, YouTube, Hotstar and so on are commonly available on all of these operating systems. WebOS and Tizen can be limited in terms of the long-tail apps. Xiaomi, Sony and Haier have Android or Google TV support, which is a far superior experience in my opinion.
Higher RAM and storage capacity are useful if you don’t want to have a slow user experience or experience frequent freezing of the display. Amongst the OLED TVs compared, Xiaomi, Sony and Haier have the best RAM and storage capacity. But despite this, it is surprising that Xiaomi has frequent freezing of the screen.
The remote is another key aspect many of you have asked me about. LG comes with a magic remote. Haier, Xiaomi, and Sony come with a Google TV remote with hotkeys for commonly used apps like Netflix, YouTube and Hotstar.
Samsung TVs come with a basic remote, but it is a solar-powered remote that can be recharged using natural or artificial light, too.
Connectivity Options: HDMI, eARC & Ports
All TVs have multiple HDMI and USB ports to connect your streaming sticks, soundbars, home theatre systems and gaming consoles. ERK HDMI is recommended for connecting soundbars, home theatre and gaming consoles.
Best 55-inch OLED TVs in India (2025)
Now that we understand the similarities and the key differences, here are my recommendations for the 55-inch OLED TVs. The same models are available in larger sizes, too. If you plan to use the TV in a brightly lit room, then consider a model with QD OLED technology.
As mentioned earlier, QD OLED technology is the latest tech which helps OLED TVs achieve better brightness, which has been one of the big issues of OLED TVs in the past.

The top-end Sony and all Samsung OLED TVs today have the QD OLED technology. Amongst those TVs, I recommend the Samsung models mainly from a price-to-value point of view over here.
Samsung OLED TVs: S90C, S95C & S95D Overview

The Samsung S90C OLED will be my top recommendation amongst the Samsung models. The Samsung S90D provides a little bit more brightness, but the rest of the base capabilities are very similar to the 90C at a much higher price. Compared to the S90 series, the Samsung S95 series has a better refresh rate, ideal only if gaming is your main use case.
While OLED TVs in general are very sleek and are ideal for wall mounting, the Samsung S95C and S95D series take out all the input cables, like HDMI and USB, into an external connector box, making it even sleeker.
In addition, the S95D has an anti-glare capability, which is useful in rooms which have a lot of light, but not so much in very dark or home theater rooms. All really good changes, but these advancements in the Samsung S95 series come at a much higher price, upwards of 2 lakhs.
LG OLED TVs: C3, C4, A3 & G Series Breakdown
While I have to talk about LG, which has the most models of OLED TVs in India, I believe that the Samsung S90C gives better value amongst the OLED TVs.
In India, at the time of making this video, LG has four of their main series, A, B, C and G, with A and B being the entry-level variants and G giving the best performance.
With the majority of the differences being in audio quality, processors used and more importantly, peak brightness. Amongst these, the LG C series will be my top recommendation amongst the LG OLED TVs.

For most users, the LG C3 and the newer LG C4 will be the best variants to purchase. Available at prices between 1.6 and 1.8 Lakhs, the C models of LG OLED TVs have a 40W speaker output with two speakers and two subwoofers. For casual viewing, the C3 is good enough, although it is a 2023 model.
The C4 supports variable refresh rates up to 144Hz, which is ideal if gaming is your main use case. It also gives a slightly brighter display than the C3, ideal if you plan to use the TV in a brightly lit room.
The WebOS Operating System
My biggest challenge with LG TVs is the WebOS operating system. It may be a personal preference, but the interface is hard to navigate until you get used to it. Although available at an attractive price of 75,000 Rupees.
Xiaomi M7 OLED Review: Should You Buy It?

If you are constrained on budget, you can get a premium brand QLED TV at a similar price point without the issues that I will highlight in a bit about the Xiaomi OLED TV. Don’t get me wrong, this is a decent TV. If your main use case is these streaming services.
Some of the key missing capabilities are 4K upscaling, which is essential if you want to watch cable TV or HD content on YouTube. But there have been known issues of the interface freezing, flickering of the screen, the remote not connecting to the TV and panel or motherboard issues right after the warranty period. And most importantly, the customer service of this TV is quite bad, with replacement being expensive or getting a refurbished TV.
